The Hyundai Genesis sedan is designed to offer the luxury appointments of much more expensive cars, for less. The Genesis can be had with a 333-hp 3.8-liter V6, a 385-hp or a 429-hp 5.0-liter V8. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission that features manual sequential shift capability. Mechanical safety features include traction control, stability control, and panic brake assist. The interior features a full complement of airbags, electronic active front headrests that provide whiplash protection, and a tire pressure monitor. Luxurious power heated leather seats, automatic dual-zone climate control and woodgrain trim are just some of the appointments this car offers that are typically only found in vehicles costing much more. For 2014, the 3.8-liter gains electro-hydraulic power steering and 18-inch alloy wheels as standard equippment. The 5.0-liter now has a standard heated steering wheel.

Model Reviews
|
Comparison |
...cars that should fear it the most aren't German thoroughbreds but are instead traditional mid-premium cars, which it thoroughly routs.
|
One Liner |
Like before, there's much about the Genesis to suggest it is far more expensive than it is. Now, though, Hyundai's full-size luxury car doesn't look rich just on paper: It feels more like it from behind the wheel, too.

Liked Most |
The Genesis sedan earned Top Safety Pick status from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, representing top scores in all of the organization's crash tests.
|
Comparison |
Inside, Hyundai has definitely matched the Acura in terms of a premium feel and has surpassed Lincoln.

Cars.com
|
Comparison |
...Hyundai Genesis sedan is a powerful, well-equipped, mid-size luxury 4-door sedan that on paper is every bit the equal (and, in some cases, the better) of similar models from Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Acura and BMW.
|
Kelley Blue Book
|
One Liner |
Acclaimed for its smart styling, solid build quality and higher-end features found normally on more expensive marques, the Hyundai Genesis sedan has been a darling of automotive experts since it hit the U.S. market in 2008.
